Opening our doors in 2010, CINQUE-which means five in Italian, is a family owned and operated wine tasting room nested on the north end of  Sutter Creek.

CINQUE features wines produced by the 5th generation Scotto Family. Locally, Sera Fina Cellarsin Plymouth is owned and operated by Paul Scotto. In addition to the latest releases available to taste from Sera Fina Cellars, we also feature wines from Paul’s brother, Anthony Scotto III and his sister Natalie Scotto. Many of the family favorites include the Sera Fina Cellars Pinto Grigio and Barbera, Regio Moscato, Villa Armando Rustico, Scotto Family Cellars Chardonnay and Delta Luna Cabernet Sauvignon. And, don’t miss out on the sumptuous desert wines called Sweetsinsations. The Peach Vanilla Brule is like drinking cake batter in a glass!

The Scotto family history started in the mid 1800′s in Italy with the family patriarch Salvatore Dominic Scotto. As in traditional Italian families, he made wine at his home for his family to enjoy while selling the excess to the neighbors and friends. Sal’s oldest son, Dominic continued the family wine making tradition, finally immigrating to New York in 1903. Shortly after Prohibition, he opened up ScottoLiquors in Brooklyn. The first of Dominic’s four sons was born in 1920 and at the age of 13, Sal began selling the crocks of wine. In 1953 Sal came up with a name for the family wine, Villa Armando, calling the wines “Rustico”, meaning rustic in Italian. Sal’s younger brother, Father Dominic, a Francisan priest designed the label that still exists today. Fifty years later, Villa Armando is one of the oldest wine brands in the U.S., having been poured in over 2 million glasses. Another brother, Leo, took over the family Scotto Liquors business. Today, Scotto Liquor store is one of New York’s oldest running liquor retailers.

In addition to our wines, we also carry an impressive array of locally produced olive oils and vinegars, and a unique assortment of wine barrel furniture and gifts.
