History Brochure developed by the Sutter Creek Fire District for its 2006 history project. The "Special Fire Edition" is patterned after the Special Minig Edition produced by the Amador Record newspaper of Sutter Creek in April 1897. The Fire Edition is a quick overview of the Sutter Creek Fire Department and Fire District from 1869 to 1960. Research by Ed Arata, layout and design by Larry Angier.
Robert Richards has produced pen & ink sketches
of the 19 principal mines of the Mother Lode in
Amador County, stretching from Sutter Creek to the
South to Jackson and to the North to Plymouth. This
"ten-mile length of Lode in Amador County ...produced
over half the total yield credited to the entire
Mother Lode gold belt". Gold Mines of California by Jack R. Wagner.
