Patricia Stikeleather, well-known watercolorist who paints diverse images, has earned numerous awards and honors over the years. She is a long-time member of the Amador County Artists Association and puts on two watercolor workshops for beginners each year. Her images cover a range of subjects, which adds to her appeal to art lovers and collectors.
Patricia’s father Al Thompson, a charter member and past president of the Amador County Artists Association, is also an award-winning watercolorist whose paintings reflect his love of the foothills and the High Sierras. Their art, as well as those of oil painter Judy Jackson; acrylic artist Julie Ritter, and photographer Laureen Shimmon are highlights in Patricia’s gallery. In addition to art, photography and antique advertising, she carries prints from Gibson Girl images to those by popular 1970s artist Peter Max. Prints from Edward Hopper, Grandma Moses, and Winslow Homer and poster art by Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, Georgia O’Keeffe and others cover art movements from the late 1800s to contempoary offerings.
