The Golden Threads Quilt show takes place in historic, downtown Sutter Creek at the Sutter Creek Auditorium and Community Center. Additional information can be found at the Mother Lode Quilters’ Guild website: http://mlqgsuttercreek.org.

The quilt show will have approximately 200 traditional, contemporary and art quilts on display. The show will also include vendors, quilts for sale, a Country Store, a Silent Auction, raffle baskets, door prizes, a guild quilt challenge and our 2024 Opportunity Quilt.

The Opportunity Quilt, Glittering Star, was discovered in a stack of quilt tops anonymously donated to our guild. The maker is unknown but the quilt was lovingly hand-pieced, possibly in the 1930s. It is further enhanced by the spectacular free-motion quilting by Shannon Freeman of This Chick Stitches.

Our featured quilters are Material Girlfriends. They are well known for their playful quilt style and colorful quilts.

The Mother Lode Quilters’ Guild (MLQG) was formed in 2003 by a group of quilters who were looking for a guild that met in the evenings. The guild meets at 6:30 in Sutter Creek at the Creekside United Methodist Church on the 4th Monday of every month.

As a non-profit organization, MLQG is very active in Amador County. Comfort quilts are made by guild members and include baby quilts, cradle quilts, pillow cases, and quilts for seniors and currently, quilts for the new dialysis center.
